The documentary series presented below is a reexamination of U.S. history - a view not discussed in school text books.
Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick, American University Professor of History and director of the Nuclear Studies Institute, coauthored the companion book to the series, which presents our country’s unlearned history, drawing on archival findings from around the world and recently declassified material. The documentary looks back at human events that at the time went under-reported, but that crucially shaped America’s unique and complex history throughout the 20th century covering the time period from the atomic bombing of Japan to the Cold War, through the fall of Communism to the events of today.
In addition to the ten feature episodes, the 4-disc Blu-ray release boasts more than three and a half hours of bonus material, including two un-aired chapters and a new companion documentary featuring Stone and author, philosopher, activist, writer, socialist leader and editor Tariq Ali, who worked with Stone on the documentary South of the Border.
